I joined HMGCC as a Business Support Administrator in August 2010, and I've found my role really varied and interesting. My duties include normal everyday admin, filing, answering queries, managing records and other tasks to support the vital work of our teams. I've also been involved in a diverse range of projects that have allowed me to use my current knowledge as well as gain new skills. Everyone here is encouraged to get involved, and from my very first day at HMGCC, I've felt that my input and opinions are valued.
On joining, I completed an induction programme, which made sure I understood the different areas of the organisation and felt confident in asking questions and contributing to discussions. I've also had support in identifying training, internally and externally that's allowed me to develop my role and build on skills from my other jobs. Business support at HMGCC is not just an everyday job and I enjoy knowing that my role enables the technical teams here to deliver important work that ensures the security of the UK.
As well as the professional side of working here, HMGCC offers a welcoming environment, and a diverse and accepting community. It's a flexible and family-friendly set up - and there's an active sports and social committee, too. Overall, HMGCC values its people - and acknowledges that its work is made possible by everyone on site working together.
