I've been a Development Engineer here for 2 years - I came to HMGCC straight from university. In that time, I've been actively involved in all aspects of a product's development lifecycle - and that includes both hardware and software.
I get involved in developing truly cutting-edge products - and I keep in close contact with the end users - whether it's a long-term strategic development project, or just a quick turn around proof of concept. I also spend a lot of time finding problems with existing products that could lead to failures and then making sure they're fixed.
It's the variety of projects I've been involved in that keeps me engaged and challenged.
To make sure you're always developing as an engineer, training's provided for all the systems that you'll be expected to use. I hadn't heard of 'Labview' before I arrived so I was put straight onto a training course. Since then, I've used 'Labview' to help me develop some very complex testing systems in use by the manufacturing and testing departments. If you have a 'can do' attitude, you will thrive at HMGCC.
